Journey with Jaguars ISSUE #7

Journey with Jaguars ISSUE #7 (May 2026)

Our 2027 Group Tour Dates Are Now Open!!!

We've just opened our full 2027 group tour calendar.

After seeing how quickly our 2026 departures filled, we've decided to give you far more options for 2027, with scheduled group tours running from late June through early November.

These tours are designed for people who want the full Journey with Jaguars experience, but in a more accessible group format.

Same river. Same expert team. Same all day search for jaguars. Same level of care from the moment you arrive.

The only difference is that you'll be joining a small group of like minded wildlife lovers, photographers, and travellers who are here for the same reason you are.

You share the transport and the river with them, and have your own private room.

Why We're Opening More Dates

A lot of guests want to join a group tour, but fixed travel dates can make it difficult.

Some people only have one specific week they can travel. Others are already planning a wider Brazil trip and need the jaguar safari to fit around flights, work, family, or other destinations.

So for 2027, we're making it easier.

Instead of only offering a handful of group departures, we're opening a full calendar across the main jaguar season, giving you more flexibility to choose the week that works best for you.

Who These Tours Are For

These departures are ideal for wildlife lovers who want a premium jaguar safari without booking a private tour.

Whether you're travelling solo, as a couple, with friends, or as part of a small group, these tours give you a simple way to join a shared departure while still getting the Journey with Jaguars experience.

Everything is organised properly from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave.

8 Guests Max.

Photography Safaris with Benjamin James (Founder of JWJ)

For those of you who are serious about wildlife photography, we've also opened three dedicated photography departures for 2027. These are smaller, more intensive trips led by me personally, built around getting the best possible images in the best possible conditions.

August 1 to 7

August 15 to 21

September 1 to 7

These fill fast and spaces are limited, so if photography and more days on the river is your main focus, this is the one to look at. (6 Guests Max)

Private Tours

We also run private tours from March 1 through December 30 for guests who want their own dedicated dates, boat, and team. You can choose anywhere from 2-6 full river days.

If you're not sure whether a group tour, photography safari, or private tour is the best fit for you, this blog breaks it all down.

Ex-professional athlete turned wildlife photographer and expedition leader Benjamin James now dedicates his life to capturing and protecting the natural world. He leads immersive wildlife expeditions through his company Journey With Jaguars, bringing adventure-driven guests face-to-face with one of the planet’s most elusive big cats. Benjamin was a freelance videographer for The Wild Immersion and is affiliated with several environmental NGOs. He is the director of CLIC, a nonprofit that installs solar-powered medical clinics in remote Indigenous communities in Colombia — bridging conservation, culture, and health. His mission is simple: connect people to wild places, and make sure those places still exist for future generations.

Journey with Jaguars ISSUE #6 (April 2026) Why Do We Stay on the River All Day on a Jaguar Safari? One thing people always notice when they come out with Journey with Jaguars is that we don’t go back to the lodge for lunch. It sounds minor when you’re booking, but it changes everything once you’re actually out there. Most operations in the Pantanal follow the same routine. Early start, good morning session, then back to the lodge late morning, lunch, rest, and out again mid afternoon. It’s...
